Principal Scientist I, II or III - Organic Chemist, Labeled Compound Synthesis

We are currently seeking an Organic Chemist to fill a position in Labeled Compound Synthesis group working as a full-time employee of Parexel International on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. The LCS group mainly focuses on synthesizing isotopically labeled compounds, essential tools to support drug discovery and development, and developing novel isotope labeling methodologies to enable and speed up the delivery. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the group members to support all aspects of the synthesis, purification, and characterization of compounds as well as execute administrative tasks in support of these efforts
Synthesize compounds of interest on milligram to gram reaction scales following experimental procedures provided
Purify and characterize organic compounds using modern instrumentation including LCMS, HPLC, and NMR etc
Safely handle and manipulate low energy radioactive compounds in accordance with established procedures
Perform operations involving air- or moisture- sensitive or potent compounds within glovebox or isolator according to established procedures
Prepare and maintain monthly status reports as well as detailed documentation of the procedures, protocols, and experimental results in a clear and organized format
Maintain laboratory chemical inventory according to established procedures and maintain a safe, well-stocked, and organized laboratory environment in accordance with technical and safety protocols
Report all maintenance issues regarding to the laboratory equipment and instruments to the relevant facility management teams and personnel
Qualifications
Principal Scientist 1: MS (>3 years of experience); PhD (<1 year industrial or post-doctoral experience)
Principal Scientist 2: MS (>10 years of experience); PhD (1-3 years of relevant experience)
Principal Scientist 3: MS (>12 years of experience); PhD (>3 years of relevant experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Proven expertise in organic synthesis, purification, and characterization of organic compounds
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience with stable and/or radioactive isotope labeling chemistry
