We embrace bold thinking, adapt quickly to change, and continually raise the bar for the speed and quality of clinical research. We are expanding our team and seeking talented individuals to help drive industry leading innovation, With Heart.

About the Role

We are seeking an Investigator Contracts Lead II (ICL II) to join our FSP Clinical Operations team in Spain. As an Investigator Contracts Lead II, you will be responsible for direct site-facing contract and budget negotiations through contract execution with assigned clinical investigator sites, including initial agreements and amendments, and oversight of other contracting professionals on assigned studies.

This role also includes managing the Per-Subject Cost (PSC) process for assigned studies, managing escalation and resolution for budget and non-legal term issues from other ICLs or preferred Contract Research Organizations (pCROs), and collaborating with other lines to plan site contracting timelines through start-up.

You will join a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment where your expertise in contract negotiation, site budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration directly enables clinical trial execution and accelerates the delivery of new therapies to patients. With diverse teams and continuous learning opportunities, the Investigator Contracts Lead II can deepen expertise and expand influence across global clinical research operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as single point of contact for studies with high priority or complex contracting structures and strategies, planning and resolving issues with minimal oversight

  • Exercise independent judgment and decision-making in site contracting, balancing client risk against clinical trial timeline impacts

  • Manage contract and budget escalations from FSP and pCRO ICLs with limited consultation

  • Follow client processes to develop, negotiate, track, and execute global clinical study agreements with institutions and investigators participating in sponsored clinical trials

  • Lead other ICL, pCRO, and FSP negotiators in achieving study goals with moderate support from site contracting team leads

  • Partner with Legal, Finance, pCRO, and other divisions to manage escalations and identify areas of improvement in the site contracting space

  • Lead and develop relationships with key investigational sites and Site Management Organizations (SMOs) across the contracting and budgeting interface

  • Collaborate with invoicing specialists and/or invoice service providers to ensure alignment with investigative site contracting and compensation requirements

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of major business initiatives or special projects

  • Maintain working knowledge of and comply with Parexel processes, ICH-GCPs, and other applicable requirements

Candidate Profile

You will thrive in this role if you bring:

  • Strengths in contract negotiation, site budgeting, and cross-functional stakeholder management

  • Experience working in clinical research, clinical trial outsourcing, or a regulated environment

  • The ability to lead by influence rather than positional authority to accomplish critical deliverables

  • A detail-oriented mindset with precise communication and presentation skills

  • Comfort working within highly matrixed, global organizations and across Legal, Finance, and CRO partner teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 7+ years of experience in clinical development operations or clinical trial outsourcing, OR

  • Master's Degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in clinical development operations or clinical trial outsourcing, OR

  • Juris Doctorate or equivalent and 2+ years of experience in clinical development operations or clinical trial outsourcing

  • Significant experience with clinical study budgets and contracting negotiation principles, practices, processes, and activities

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, concepts, and theories in site contracting and budgets

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiation of Clinical Trial Agreements with clinical trial sites in a global operation

  • Experience managing contracting within an FSP or CRO model

  • Familiarity with pCRO and FSP contracting structures and escalation frameworks
