Desktop Support Technician

We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to work in our Sao Paulo office. As a Desktop Support Technician, you'll be responsible for laptop configuration, deployment and desktop support. You will join a dedicated IT team that supports the backbone of clinical research operations. You'll provide critical first-level technical support to our clinical research professionals, ensuring they have the tools and systems they need to advance groundbreaking clinical trials. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills while making a meaningful impact on healthcare innovation.
Who We're Looking For
We are hiring a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional with strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for learning. You should be a team player with excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts in simple terms. Required Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related technical role
- Laptop configuration, deployment and desktop support
- Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Knowledge of standard office productivity software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
- Basic understanding of network concepts and troubleshooting
- Experience with service desk ticketing systems
- Advanced English Level
What You'll Do
- Respond to and resolve user requests and incidents through the service desk ticketing system, providing first-level troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues
- Configure, install, and update software applications and peripherals; set up workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for new and existing users
- Create, modify, and disable user accounts; reset passwords; and manage user permissions and access rights based on role requirements
- Perform basic hardware repairs and replacements (memory, hard drives, peripherals) and conduct regular maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
- Provide basic training to users on standard software applications and systems; create and maintain end-user documentation and quick reference guides
- Maintain accurate records of all support activities in the service desk system and document common issues and solutions for knowledge base articles
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity testing; assist with physical inventory audits of IT assets
- Ensure adherence to IT security policies and procedures; assist with security measures such as antivirus updates and patches
Additional Details
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent with relevant technical training required
- Familiarity with remote support tools and technologies
- Basic knowledge of IT security principles and mobile device management
- Basic understanding of clinical research applications beneficial but not required
- Familiarity with regulated environments a plus
