Facility Engineer - Materials Management Specialist - FSP

This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer any sponsorship.
Responsibilities
The Material Handler is responsible for the end-to-end management of material handling operations, including receipt, storage, inventory management, and dispensing/discarding of materials. Supports a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment with a quick workload turnover to ensure reliable material flow for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This role is critical in maintaining Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance and ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control within the warehouse environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent field
Associate’s degree with relevant experience would be considered.
Required Skills and Experience
Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
Proficiency with inventory management systems and spreadsheet applications
Knowledge of GMP and regulatory compliance standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills required, including the ability to use Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets, and warehouse systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical ability to lift and move materials safely
Commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation
Working knowledge of SAP preferred/required for material management
Primary Responsibilities
End-to-End Material Handling
Manage the complete material handling cycle from receipt through release to final dispensing or discard, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and operational standards.
GMP Compliance & Warehouse Maintenance
Maintain GMP status for all warehouses through continuous monitoring of temperature and humidity levels, ensuring optimal storage conditions for all materials
Documentation & Record Keeping
Keep all spreadsheets and material packets up to date and accurate to ensure data integrity and traceability.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Material Receipt
Verify and receive incoming materials against Purchase Orders, packing lists, Certificates of Analysis (CoA)/Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), and supply chain documentation
Ensure all materials are labeled with SU and ICL labels during receipt
Store all materials in designated warehouse storage locations within 24 hours of receipt
File all documentation in MEDS (virtual system) and physical file room post-receipt
Actively monitor and follow up on testing and release of materials to ensure timely completion and accuracy (weekly)
Inventory Management
Ensure materials are moved to correct storage locations
Manage FIFO/FEFO (First-In-First-Out / First-Expire-First-Out) protocols
Discard expired materials on a monthly basis
Perform annual cycle counts
Assist with monthly forecast analysis
Communication and Compliance
Respond to emails in a timely manner
Complete MyLearning trainings on schedule
Attend area and material-related meetings
Place workorders when repairs are needed
Communicate concerns with supervisor and/or director
Manage change controls for the area
