Biomedical Engineering Technologist

As a Biomedical Engineering Technologist, you will be at the forefront of supporting critical medical equipment and technology throughout its entire lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced candidate whose expertise will ensure our clinical units operate with reliable, well-maintained medical devices that comply with all regulatory requirements. You'll provide valuable technical support to our clinical teams, troubleshoot issues, and help implement new technologies that advance our research capabilities.
Location: onsite in Harrow, UK
Your Key Responsibilities:
Administration and Maintenance
- Perform, coordinate, and document maintenance activities for medical equipment and systems, including safety tests, functional checks, and calibration according to legal requirements and regulations
- Provision medical equipment/systems for study conduct, handling receipt, installation, and testing
- Support the procurement and provision of consumables for medical equipment/systems
- Contribute to maintaining an accurate inventory of medical equipment
Business Consultancy
- Provide regulatory input within the scope of technical support for medical equipment/systems
- Assist in preparing deliverables for sponsor audits and inspections
User Support
- Deliver responsive user support for medical equipment/systems
- Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd level support resources (including vendors) to troubleshoot issues
User Training
- Provide comprehensive training on medical equipment/systems
- Support the creation of effective training materials
Implementation
- Contribute to authoring system and validation documents
- Participate in the execution of system validation activities

- Good standard of written and spoken English
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in clinical research or knowledge of local legal requirements and FDA regulations on medical devices
- Experience with laboratory, medical, or clinical computer systems (preferred)
- Experience with validation processes (such as 21CFR11) in clinical research computerized systems (preferred)
Education
- Degree educated in biomedical engineering or equivalent such as Science, Technology or medical technology.
- Healthcare professional with adequate work experience in a research environment supporting medical devices OR experience working in a hospital supporting medical devices.
