Pharmacy Technician (per diem)

Parexel’s Early Phase Clinical Unit (EPCU) plays a vital role in the development of innovative new medicines that improve public health, enhance patient outcomes, and save lives. Early phase and “first‑in‑human” clinical trials are the first opportunity to evaluate novel treatments in people—and our pharmacy team ensures these trials are conducted safely, accurately, and with exceptional quality.
We are seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Technician to support our Baltimore EPCU. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly regulated clinical research environment—different from traditional retail or hospital pharmacy settings—while contributing directly to advancing medical innovation.
Your Activities (including but not limited too):
- Coordinate with the EPCU Pharmacist or pharmacy technicians to support timely review of IP (Investigational Product) randomization schedules, dose preparation requirements, and other project‑related work.
- Ensure sufficient inventory of test and reference products to support ongoing study execution.
- Store IP according to study protocols, EPCU SOPs, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare, label, and dispense IP for dosing in strict compliance with protocols, randomization schedules, EPCU SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery or availability of IP for all dosing activities.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of IP receipt, preparation, dispensing, returns, and destruction or return to the Sponsor.
- Oversee proper storage, archiving, and maintenance of IP study documentation.
- Ensure that IP is securely stored in designated locked areas within the EPCU.
- Comply with EPCU SOPs, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and Good Pharmacy Practices.
- Participate in project or client meetings to represent EPCU Pharmacy services, as applicable.
- Support sponsor monitoring visits related to IP accountability and documentation.
- Assist in maintaining and improving pharmacy workflows and operational processes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the EPCU.
- Perform other pharmacy‑related duties as assigned.
Your Profile:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Active Maryland Pharmacy Technician License or current enrollment in a PharmD program.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician (research, hospital, or retail experience accepted).
- Highly preferred: Knowledge of sterile compounding practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Base Pay Range: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
Actual salaries may vary within the range based on several factors including, but not limited to education, training, experience, professional achievement, and location.
In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for participation in Parexel’s annual performance-based bonus plan, annual salary review and additional total rewards incentives.
