Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator

The Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator provides tactical sourcing solutions for depot, investigation medicinal product, courier, and ancillary supplies. The Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator must analyze and understand complex customer requirements to provide professional advice and ongoing support to meet study requirements. The Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator provides in-depth specialized sourcing knowledge, especially related to the proper development, completion and as required, initiation and management of a high complex RFI/RFQ/ RFP. The Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator will also play a leading role in supplier management, working closely with key local/regional suppliers to develop business relationships that help facilitate a more streamlined approach to sourcing while ensuring high levels of service are maintained. The Global Supply Sourcing Coordinator should have the ability to initiate, develop advanced sourcing/business related ideas, determine the optimum course of action for success, particularly in respect to collaborating and seeking agreement with all interested parties.

Key Accountabilities:

Operational Sourcing

Maintains close working relationships and provides professional advice and assistance to internal customers at all levels by but not limited to:

  • Monitoring quality and efficiency of relevant sourcing processes, pricing accuracy and purchase orders.
  • Commodity research, supplier selection, supplier evaluation and request for information/quotation/proposal.
  • Verifying purchase requests accuracy, completion, and approvals.
  • Ensuring products and services are obtained at a budgeted price.
  • Ensure ancillary material and Investigational Product is compliant with local regulation and can be import and/or exported.
  • Coordinate return of rental equipment/medical devices.
  • Own and action help desk sourcing queue tickets.
  • Create and execute SOW’s for services required.
  • Analyze data and trends for predictive bulk purchasing.
  • Mentor junior team members.

Planning

  • Trigger qualification of new suppliers with procurement if required.

Problem Solving regarding sourcing services or goods from Third Party Suppliers

  • Anticipate or recognize the existence of a problem and take ownership of seeing it through to resolution.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain or find comparable compliant ancillary supplies.
  • Obtain necessary documentation from suppliers/manufacturers for import/export.
  • Execute sourcing activities on demand to support study needs.
  • Dealing with returns and refunds (assisting internal customers with return forms/liaising with suppliers for obtaining credit memos).
  • Take active action in case of Quality issues with third party suppliers, responsible for risk mitigation through to resolution.
  • Assisting internal customers with any sourcing queries and system difficulties.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of GCP, GDP, GxP.
  • Active listening, excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Client focused approach to work.
  • Ability to prioritize workload that have tight timelines and extreme urgency with attention to detail and first-time quality.

  • 4+ years of sourcing or procurement experience in a CRO or Pharmaceutical environment (Preferred).

Education:

  • Educated to BA/BS, master’s degree, or equivalent, in biology, pharmacy, or other health related discipline, international trade, business administration or logistics or relevant work experience.
